DU2DS Friday Challenge Things With Wings

Great challenge this week at DU2DS Friday Challenge and as the title states "Things With Wings" the challenge is open to lots of interpretations. I took the title literally and made a butterfly! I thought I would try something different and a little out of my comfort zone. Printing On Acetate! I would like to say it was easy but i struggled to get the acetate through my printer lol, I eventually managed it by attaching it to a sheet of white paper. So I changed the colour of the butterfly and added a little drop shadow (psp) then printed multiple images on the acetate. I then cut out the main image and then two layers of the wings. I glittered the wings on the underside and when that had dried I attached the wings to the butterfly with silicone and let that dry.
I used pearl papers that I ran through my Bug to emboss, cut the circles with nesties and the scallops are punched with Fiskars threading water scalloped punch. The flowers are punched with the retro flower punches and the flourish and bookplate are sizzix dies. I attached the butterfly when dried and Voila! I really like this card but how ever many times I tried I could not get a decent piccy, It is much more vibrant in the flesh! Have a fab weekend and I hope you will be joining us this week at DU2DS
Oh, if you like the butterfly digi stamp you can get it here
