Paper Folding

I thought I would try my hand at some paper folding

I Google'd some images and came up with this Christmas tree design which I really like

All of the papers except the music sheet are from Stamping Dragons Designs and are from the Christmastide Paper Pack

The papers have made the card have a vintage feel which I really like

The inspiration and the tutorial for making the folds came from Purple Fearie

No Card Today But I Do Have My Holly Rose Candle

I am really pleased with this little crafty make

I have only tried to use a stamp on a candle once before and I made a bit of a hash of it.

But when I saw this Holly Rose Digi from Stamping Dragon Designs I couldn't resist having another go

My goodness finding plain white tissue paper and and the right candle this time of year was a mean feat in itself! all the shops are carrying is festive candles and festive colour tissue paper grrrr ..

Well I managed to scrape some tissue paper from the deepest depths of my craft stash and Morrisons came to my rescue for the yummy vanilla scented candle.

It took an age to carefully cut around the digi after colouring with Promarkers. I heated it all up with my heat gun and Voila!! I like it

I added some stickles and punched a pretty little wrap for the base with mt MS punch The papers are again from the Stamping Dragon and from the Christmastide collection

The ribbon is Anitas

I made a matching carton for it below

The card I have to share today is Vintage Lady framed from Stamping Dragon

Coloured with Promarkers

I bought a new paper pad Desert Blooms by Trimcraft and must say I love it, the papers are fab quality and the glittered ones are gorgeous. I cut the glittered flowers and leaves out and raised them up for a little definition

I added Stickles to the frame and to her necklace.

I sponged the sky with Distress Inks and added Stickles for twinkly Stars

The Spooky House was a freeby download cut on my Silhouette

I cut the Circle with my Fiskars Circle cutter and coloured with promarkers and added Stickles

Witchy Poo is coloured with Promarkers

I added crackle glaze to the door to make it look old

cut the grass and drew pumpkins by hand and coloured with Promarkers

Stamping With The Dragon - Fall Colours

How excited am I to bring you my first project as part of the Design Team for Stamping With The Dragon! The Theme this week is Fall Colours and is being Sponsored By Meljen's Designs. I have used Happy Fall.

I have seen lots of shaped cards being used in Blogland so thought I would have a go at cutting one on my Silhouette. I purchased the file from Silhouette and set to work cutting it.... about 5 sheets of card later I got there! That darn machine is so picky about what it will and won't cut LOL So what should have been a fairly quick make took the best part of two hours all in all!!

On the other hand the Digi Stamp was a dream to print and colour

I changed the stamp from black outline to brown and then coloured with my Promarkers

I added some Stickles and ut the circle with my Fiskars Circle Cutter

I coloured a yellow ribbon with a Brown Promarker

added a flower from my stash and some gems

Lil Christmas Lolita

I have seen a lot of Christmas cards being made in Blog land and having just taken delivery of this stamp from Tickled Pink Stamps I thought I would make my first of the year

Great Stamp isn't it? she is called Lil Christmas Lolita Lilith

I coloured her with Promarkers and added Stickles to the fur trim and as falling snow

The flowers are are from my stash with added Stickles and gems for bling

I cut the leaves from white paper and coloured them with promarkers then cut and shaped them

I have had the little metal photo corner for ages

I think the sentiment stamp is Penny Black

The papers are .... hmm forgot will add this in later

Anyway I would like to add this card to the Sketch and Stash challenge

I have been playing with my Silhouette again and it is playing along nicely for a change and cutting like the good little cutter should!

I cut the scalloped easle card and the nesting circles on the Silhoutte

I cut the bunting by hand

The sentiment is computer generated in PSP

the flowers in her basket are from a Cuttlebug die and punched flowers/ leaves as are the flowers& butterfly

elsewhere on the card

I coloured Tilda with Promarkers, cut her out and raised her a little with foam pads for dimension.

Shock horror I have created a card without using a stamped image!

LOL

I thought I would have a go at creating with Die Cuts and use up some of my other stash creatively. I made this card for an order, with a box to match.

The bird and bird cage are Tim Holtz dies

I distressed them with distress inks and cosmic shimmer pearly spritz spray

I made some of the flowers from punchies and some are from my stash that I added the pearl shimmer and some stickles to I made the pearl embelishments myself . I also added gems and pearls to the flowers

The DP is My Minds Eye Totally Girl I just love this paper pack

I made the hanging charms from my Jewellery findings stash

I added some lace and computer printed sentiment then decorated the inside and the box to match

The two images I have used are

Let's Make a Picnic and Quiet Moment

I have coloured them with my Promarkers

The papers are from the Lets Make a Picnic set and they print out lovely

I have used my Silhouette to cut out the scalloped edge on the paper before mounting onto my card

and also to cut the nesting square in the coordinating checked paper

my third paper is the gorgeous rose printed paper that I have punched with my Fiskars threading water punch to scallop the edge

My embellishment is the Anita's dimensions butterfly with its diamante flight trail.

The second part of my Christening gift was to make a memory box so that mum could keep all the little bitz n pieces of her little bubbas first years all together. I have never attempted this kind of project before so it was a bit of a learning curve for me. I think it turned out ok though. I wanted a sort of shabby chic look to the paint. The first coat was an off white. I then went over it with Tim Holtz distress inks and then with the off white emulsion and then sanded it down to give a distress look.

I thought I would show you a Christening card I made for my God Daughters son.

It is a trifold card. I got out my punches and embossing folders for this one

there are no design papers at all! I bought the die cut cross from Ebay and

worked the card around it. I made the little flower from punched flowers and added pearls

I printed a verse from a card making cd I have and then cut it out with my Nesties Lables

The digi image is from Sliekjestamps it is so cute

I coloured it with my promarkers and added some pearl paint to the wings

I also made a matching box for the card

A long post? lol well the card took a long time to make also haha

I bought some new stash a couple of weeks ago so thought I would use some of it on this card. I also found lots of bits and pieces I had got through swaps etc so I don't know the names of most of the bits and pieces on this card i.e die used for the butterfly and swirls

I used inks on my die cuts to change the colours to match in with the colour theme I aso spritzed them with sparkly mist and then stickled them

I have coloured Tilda with my Promarkers

The ticket and DP were bought from Ebay no idea ehat they are called.

Anyway I like this card I think it has turned out "pretty"

Its different from the usual images I use but I really like how it has turned out.

I have had a little shopping spree in the last week or so. I blame all of the time off work I have had too much time to peruse the net ..lol

I love this Sarah Kay stamp It is a little more grown up than the usual SK stamps

I went to my local docrafts store to stock up on glue and craft dots and lots of other goodies fell in to my basket also! like the yummy paper on this card

I did lots of colouring with my Promarkers

The ribbon, the roses and the card behing the stamped image so that they all colour coordinated!

Not sure what I was doing with the gems they are supposed to be swirls lol oh well better luck next time.

Hope you are all enjoying the nice weather and your Easter hols! I have spent a little time card making today and might just sneak this card into the Papertake Weekly challenge before it closes.

The theme is "Spots and Stripes" Isn't this mushroom castle the cutest? It's a new image from the Paper Shelter. I printed out the pre coloured image used stickles on the spots of the mushrooms and also outlined the piccy with a clear Sakura Glaze pen to add subtle embossing.
The papers are from my scraps box and are a free download Shabby Princess Festival
The little mushroom embellishment has been hanging arouund for ages so I am glad I found it a new home LOL

So there we have it a quicky card which is unusual for me!!

The Paper Shelter Challenge 8 - Anything Goes! Card or Recipe Box

This weeks challenge at The Paper Shelter is Anything Goes! Let your imagination run wild LOL!
I decided to make a card holder for the cards I made for BARC my local dog rescue centre
I have used Bee Bear again for this weeks challenge. I printed out the pre coloured one to save time as I spent ages faffing about with the Card Box. I added a little stickles glitter to his wings and antenni.
I designed the template for the box myself by making a tiny prototype out of scrap paper just to see if the thoughts I had would actually work with card AND they did! and then had my techi clever O/H draw it in a programme called Sketch Up.
It is still a work in progress and needs a little tweek but all in all it came together really well I think. It could also be used for a recipe card index or seed packets if you made some dividers. As you can see my 6x6" (approx) cards sit nicely in it.I have shown it with 4 cards displayed but there is room for around 20 cards depending on how well embellished they are.

I have used the Disney scrap book papers again as I think they work so well with this image

Punched and shaped the flowers and added glitter to the centres. The little butterflies are Anita's Dimension Stickers

I have used nesties to cut the scalloped circle and Fiskars punch Threading Water for the scalloped edges

I forgot to upload the picture of the card set all wrapped and tagged up ready for the tombolla stall, trust me lol.

Oops I am so late posting this today had a mare of a day..... ANYWAYS....

This weeks challenge at The Paper Shelter gives you the chance to show everyone what or who inspires you. There are lots and lots of mega talented people who out there who make me go wow! when I look at their work so I had plenty of scope for inspiration. As I nearly always make a 6" square card I thought I would have a look around to see who could expire me to make something different.

I came accross this amazing lady Marlena and her Paper Papillon blog . Her circle side step card is gorgeous so I tried to have a go. I got into a bit of a pickle at one point but sorta got there in the end Ha Ha!

I have used Bee Bear and coloured him with Promarkers and added stickles to his wings.

I cut and shaped the flowers from the same papers

die cut butterfly had been inked to colour match and I made some swirly pattens with stickles on the wings

I made this easle style card for an order, the brief I was given was "she likes flowers" Well I hope she likes this floral card!

I am entering this into the Stamptacular Sunday challenge where the theme is Whatever!

I made the rose design papers myself in PSP and the darker DP is from a papermania set. The stamp is also Papermania that I have coloure with Promarkers and added glitter. I chalked the background. The paper roses were hand pinched and shaped then glittered I also made a matching box.

Meet Little Sylfie... CUTE! This is my first card for The Paper Shelter DT. The images print brilliantly and are easy to colour. I used my Promarkers to colour her and then cut her out with my new oval Nellie Snellen dies. The papers are from a Disney scrap book kit I have had for ages, The sentiment stamp is a Sizzix stamp. flowers and ribbon from stash .

As you can see my card isn't quite finished yet. This card is for my god daughter who is expecting her bundle of joy very soon so when she has given birth and named her baby I will add the sentiment at the bottom of the card

I went with the neutral lemon colour as I don't know the sex of the baby

The digi is a freeby from Anne Bodil coloured with Promarkers check out her site for some super cute digis

The paper is from a daisy and dandelion cd rom

She is such a cute one.

I have coloured her with Promarkers and (don't laugh) had a go at a colured back ground in the pointelism style. I know it isn't good enough and will really have to practice this technique to get it looking right but I didn't want to overload with any more dots as I didn't know if it would make it any better and I had been dotting for about half an hour ! lol

Cute Card Thursday have the theme "Out With The Old" as this weeks challenge, they want to see you using some of your old stash

I snagged this image a while ago from Arthurs Clip Art site and loved it.

I have coloured the image with my Promarkers and added Aqua glitter to the rain and puddles

The hearts were cut on my Bug with the Hearts and Stamps Die that I have had for ages and ages so this could be my OLD stash. I wasn't sure about using yellow for hearts but it kinda works? anyway I jazzed them up with a lickety spit of glitter.

The Design Paper is called Retro something or other (oops forgot and don't have packaging)

I designed the word art on my lap top

The ribbon is some old stash too

Although this card is kinda romantic I didn't want it too fussy or girly as i'm gonna give it him indoors

Hope he doesn't mind the glitter ;0)

Winter Birthday Card

I have made this card for my God Daughters Birthday, hope she likes it

The image is a Greetings Farm stamp from the Rain, Snow, Shine set I coloured her with Promarkers and added Flower Soft Polar White flakes as the fur on her coat trim, muffler and ear muffs . The papers are Paper Mania Henbury Lane from the perfect summer day collection (well I found some wintery ones lol) they are glittery but I don't think the camera has picked up the glimmer too well, the colours are more vibrant than the camera has shown too. I made the flowers from punching out onto co-ordinating paper and adding some glittered flowers, the ticket is a freeby download, sorry can't remember whos I printed them ages ago before I lost a lot of my downloads from my lap top, I just coloured to match the colour scheme. Ribbon is Anitas and gems from stash, wooh think that covers everything :0)

I am still not doing much card or jewellery making but have made some cards for my regulars who have asked for bespoke personalised cards. I actually enjoyed taking my time making these cards instead of rushing to get cards finished for deadlines.

I coloured him with Promarkers

I wanted to have a rocking horse that moved so I Googled and found this site Make it Crafty

So I sorta copied her idea and added my own touches lol The hardest part was how to make it rock but I sorta figured it and here is the result!

I love this castle card it is so sweet I got the template from A Path Of Paper Unfortunately my camera died on me and this is the best shot I got

DU2DS Friday Challenge 35 - Metal

This weeks DU2DS Friday Challenge is Metal.........

I was not sure how I was going to approach this challenge but knew I wanted to use this adorable Chibi Mermaid drawn by the very talented artist Cyname. She uploads her drawings on the Deviant Art website and allows you to colour her art as you wish. I had a shell charm that I thought would look fab on the card and would also be my "metal" for the theme. I also used some metalic board for the swirls.

I have coloured the mermaid with Promarkers with added stickles glitter. The Dp's are Making Memories ( I think) Ribbon and cardstock from stash.

I haven't yet put a sentiment on as I feel it could be used for a number of occaisions so I left a space above the ribbon to add a small greeting if required.

I have used Chris Dark's Easter Basket Image

I printed 3 images and after colouring with Promarkers I cut them and layered them up with foam pads.I carried the theme on to the inside of the card also.

Hazel has created a fab sketch to follow and the theme is open so I used it to make an Easter card

DU2DS Challenge 33 - No patterned paper!

This is a challenge and a half as I love designer papers lol but I dug out my embossing folders and got to work! Not sure who's these digis are but will try and find out and put a link on as I love this cheeky monkey.

As usual I have coloured the image with Promarkers. I inked up the Birthday embossing folder with white ink before embossing the blue paper. It just gived the embossing a bit more definition.

Hope you can join in with this weeks challenge we are hosting at Dare you to Digi Stamp which is Use Your Punches! I used a corner rounder punch and a Fiskars scalloped punch on my card. The cup cake digi image has been coloured with promarkers and given some dimension by layering up the iced tops with foam dst and added glitter for sparkle!
